CERTIFICATE IN FOOD AND NUTRITION (CFN)
 
This is basically a post-literacy level awareness programme meant for people with basic reading and writing skills. It aims to acquaint the learner with the role of food in ensuring healthy living for the individual, family and community, and includes features such as food selection and preparation, nutrition from infancy to old age, economics of food, kitchen gardening, food adulteration and consumer rights, safety and education in the areas of food and nutrition. It is offered in English and Kannada media.

PG DIPLOMA IN HIGHER EDUCATION (PGDHE)
 
The programme has been visualized and developed in response to the recommendations of the National Policy of Education (1986) with a view to providing the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills pertaining to higher education for university and college teachers. The UGC has recognized the programme as equivalent to two refresher courses in education and as an orientation course for disciplines other than education. The programme is meant for regular teachers in universities, colleges and other institutions of higher learning; people with a postgraduate degree in any subject with at least II division; and professional degree holders in areas such as engineering and medicine.

The Diploma programmes is a holistic  package which provides opportunities to the learner to give knowledge about Nutrition and public health related information to communities.  The aim of the programmes is to develop a knowledge base in areas of Nutrition and public health problem awareness about concepts and princeples in communication and there application in nutrition and health education and develop skin in playing the role of nutrition / health educators in the country.

Learners with basic 10+2 qualification with an interest in community work will find the Diploma very useful.
